A video editor for wedding planners: one take becomes a finished Reel

Planners and venues film more than almost any other business. Almost none of it ends up on their own feed. The edit takes an evening, and the evening after a wedding does not exist. Cutroom takes one talking-head take, up to three minutes, and returns a finished 9:16 video with b-roll and captions in about a minute. Here is how it fits the job, what it costs, and the flat limits to plan around.

Saturday fills your camera roll. Monday posts none of it.

A wedding weekend produces footage without trying. The ballroom flip. The sparkler exit. The cake arriving on a cart at 4pm.

The polished film of the day is the videographer's work, licensed to the couple. Reposting it is a permission conversation, not a right.

So the feed that sells your business needs footage you own. The one asset you fully own is you, explaining what you do.

That is where it stops for most planners. A talking-head clip needs cutting, captions and pictures over the wordy parts. That is an evening in an editing app.

The result is a feed with four posts from March, while couples shortlist the planners they can watch.

One take in the browser, a finished vertical video out

Film yourself answering one question a couple always asks. Up to three minutes, on a phone.

Upload it. Cutroom transcribes the take, drafts the cut, places b-roll on the words that describe something and burns in captions.

The edit comes back in about a minute. It is a 9:16 MP4 at 1080x1920, the shape Reels, TikTok and Shorts want.

The transcript is the editor. Highlight a phrase and a clip lands on exactly those words. Move it if you disagree.

Delete a line and the cut rebuilds around what is left. Six caption styles. It all runs in the browser. There is no app to learn.

What a video costs, in credits and in evenings

A batch is 100 credits. It covers transcription, the director pass and the b-roll search.

Export is 20 credits per finished minute, so a 30 second video comes to about 110 credits.

Basic is $39.99 a month for 2,500 credits. That is about 20 finished videos, and it removes the Cutroom mark from the corner.

Premium is $79.99 for 5,000 credits.

The first 3 finished videos are free in your first 7 days. 600 credits, no card. They export with a Cutroom mark across the middle and are yours to post.

What each step costs

A 30 second video is one batch plus a 10 credit export. About 110 credits. Basic covers about 20 of them a month.

The questions couples ask you are the scripts

You answer the same fifteen questions in every consult. Each answer is a video.

What a planner actually does on the day. What happens if it rains. How far ahead couples should book. Where a budget goes, line by line.

Film the answer the way you say it across the table. One question per take. Do not write it out first. You have said it a hundred times. The hundred-and-first sounds natural because it is.

  • What I actually do between 7am and the first dance
  • The three questions to ask a venue before you sign anything
  • What a rain plan looks like when it works
  • The part of the budget couples always underestimate

For venues: the tour you already give is the video

A venue runs the same tour every week. The spiel is already polished by repetition.

Record it once, straight to camera. The light in the main room at six. Where the band loads in. What the wet-weather room looks like when it is dressed.

The flat facts to plan around. One take, up to three minutes, becomes one finished vertical video. Somebody has to talk to camera.

It does not cut ceremony footage into a highlight film. That stays your videographer's craft. This covers the videos where you talk.

Questions people ask

Can it edit our wedding films or highlight reels?
No. It edits one talking-head take of up to three minutes into one finished vertical video. Cinematic wedding films stay with your videographer. This is for the videos where you talk: answers, tours, advice.
What is free, exactly?
3 finished videos in your first 7 days. That is 600 credits, no card. They export with a Cutroom mark across the middle. Basic at Lite at $19.99 a month removes the mark and covers about 20 videos.
Do I have to be on camera?
Somebody does. You, a partner, your venue coordinator. The format is a person talking, with b-roll over the words that describe something. The camera work is one phone take. The editing is the part that disappears.
Whose footage appears over my words?
The batch searches millions of free clips and places one on the exact words you highlight. Swap any clip, or move it if you disagree with where it landed. Your own venue clips can sit over the words where you name the room.
What shape is the export?
A 9:16 vertical MP4 at 1080x1920. That is the native shape for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, so it posts without cropping.
How long should each video be?
About 30 seconds. Long enough for one answer. At about 110 credits per finished 30 second video, Basic covers about 20 a month.
