Terms of service

What you are agreeing to.

Last updated 31 July 2026. This is the whole agreement between you and Cutroom. We have written it to be read, not to be survived. If a line here is unclear, reply to any email from us and a person will answer.

Who we are

Cutroom is software that turns one uploaded video into a finished vertical advert. It is operated from the Netherlands and sold to businesses. Contact: support@cutroomai.com.

Cutroom is a tool for people who work for themselves or for a business. It is not sold to consumers for personal use, and by opening an account you confirm you are using it for a business purpose and are at least 18.

Your account

One account, one workspace. You sign in with an email link, so whoever can read that inbox can reach your account. Keep it secure. Tell us straight away if you think somebody else has access.

You can invite other people into your workspace. Anything they do counts as done by you, and you are responsible for it.

The trial, and the first charge

Every plan starts with 7 days free and 1.000 credits. A card is required to start it, and nothing is charged on day one.

On day 8 the plan you chose starts charging. We email you before that happens. Cancel any time before then and you are never charged. The trial is one per workspace: cancelling and starting again does not begin a second free week.

What it costs

Basic is $39.99 a month, or $359.88 a year paid up front, and includes 2.500 credits a month. Premium is $79.99 a month, or $719.88 a year, and includes 5.000 credits a month. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax your country adds.

Credits are how we meter the expensive parts: rendering, generated music, avatars, voice-overs. The current price of each action is shown in the app before you run it. If you need more in a given month you can buy a top-up, starting at $39.99 for 2.500 credits.

Credits are not money and cannot be cashed out. They have no value outside Cutroom, we do not buy them back, and they end when your plan does.

We can change prices. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it does. A price you have already paid is never changed after the fact.

Cancelling, and refunds

One click under Settings, Billing. It takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for. There is no cancellation fee and we do not ask why.

The full refund policy, including the case where we say no, is at cutroomai.com/refunds, and it forms part of these terms.

Your footage stays yours

You keep every right in what you upload and in what Cutroom makes from it. We claim no ownership of your videos, your voice, your face or your finished adverts. You can use them commercially without asking us.

You give us permission to store and process your files only to run the service for you: to transcribe, cut, render and deliver them. That permission ends when you delete the file or close the account.

We do not train models on your footage, and we do not license it to anyone.

What you promise us

That you have the right to everything you upload. That is the whole of it, and it matters: if you upload somebody else's video, somebody else's music, or a person's face and voice without their permission, the claim lands on you, not on us.

Do not use Cutroom to make:

  • anything showing a real person saying or doing something they did not, presented as real
  • adverts for things that are illegal where they will run
  • claims about a product that you know are untrue
  • material that is sexual, involves minors, or promotes violence or hatred

If you do, we can close the account. When something is serious we report it, and we would rather say that here than surprise you with it.

What the software actually does, and what it does not

Cutroom uses automated systems, including third-party AI models, to transcribe your video, propose an edit, find stock footage, generate music and generate presenter video. Those systems are imperfect. Transcripts contain mistakes. Suggested edits are suggestions.

Check the output before you spend money on it. You decide what to publish and you are responsible for what it says. We do not promise that an advert will perform, sell anything, or be approved by any platform you run it on.

The editor needs a computer. It is not usable on a phone, and we say so before the card is taken.

Uptime, and when things break

We do not offer a guaranteed uptime figure, because we would rather promise nothing than promise a number we cannot hold. We aim for the service to be available and we fix outages as fast as we can.

If a render fails on our side, the credits it took are returned automatically. If that does not happen, email us and we will put it right.

We may change or remove features. If we remove something you rely on, we will say so by email first.

Limits on what we owe you

The service is provided as it is. Beyond what this page says, and beyond what the law where you live requires of us, we make no warranties.

If something goes wrong and we are liable, our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before it happened. We are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost data or the cost of a campaign that did not work.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or injury we caused.

Closing an account

You can close yours whenever you like. Email us and we will delete it, along with your files, within 30 days.

We can close an account that breaks the rules above, that charges back a legitimate payment, or that is used to attack the service. Where we can, we will warn you first and refund the unused part of what you paid.

Changes to these terms

If we change something that materially affects you, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Cutroom after that is how you accept it. If you would rather not, cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period.

Law

Dutch law applies, and disputes go to the courts of the Netherlands. If you are a business somewhere else, that does not take away protections your own law gives you that cannot be signed away.
