The whole deal, including the two parts that cost you money: a trial pays nothing until it converts, and a refunded charge is taken back. We email this to you as well.
What you earn
You earn 30% of every subscription payment made by a customer who signed up through your link, for their first 12 months as a paying customer. If we agreed a different rate with you, that rate is in your approval email and on your dashboard, and it is the one that counts.
The clock starts at their first paid month, not at the day they signed up. A customer who trials for two weeks and then subscribes still earns you a full twelve months from that first payment.
It is every month, not just the first. As long as they keep paying inside that window, you keep earning.
What earns nothing
A free trial. A trial is a $0 invoice, so it pays nothing until the customer converts to a paid plan. Signups are worth counting, but they are not money yet.
Credit top-ups and other one-off purchases. Only subscription payments earn commission.
Your own account, or one you control. Signing up through your own link is not a referral, and doing it deliberately ends the partnership.
A customer who was already ours. If someone already has a Cutroom account, or already came through another partner inside the attribution window, their payments are not attributed to you.
How a click becomes yours
A click on your link is remembered for 90 days. Somebody who reads for two months and signs up later is still yours.
The last partner link clicked wins. If a person clicks yours and then somebody else's before signing up, the sale goes to the last one.
Clicks only count while your partner account is active. If it is paused or suspended, the link still resolves but nothing is attributed, and your dashboard says so.
When you get paid
Money moves in three states, and nothing skips a step. PENDING is a payment a customer has made that we have not reviewed yet. APPROVED is us confirming it is real, which is the only state money can be sent from. PAID is the money gone.
You connect Stripe yourself, from your own partner dashboard. Stripe collects your bank and tax details directly. We never see or store them, and we cannot do that step for you. Until Stripe says your account can receive payouts, approved money simply waits.
Payouts are in US dollars. Stripe converts to your currency at their rate when it lands, and their conversion cost is the only fee between us and your bank.
There is a minimum before a transfer runs. Below it, the balance rolls over to the next one rather than being sent in pieces.
Once a transfer is sent, Stripe usually takes a few working days to put it in your bank. You get an email when it is released and another when it is sent.
What gets taken back
If a customer is refunded, the commission on that payment goes back with it. A partial refund takes back the same share. A $10 refund on a $40 month takes a quarter of that month's commission, not the whole thing.
A chargeback takes the whole commission for the disputed payment, whatever the outcome. If we win the dispute the commission comes back.
If the money has already been paid to you, the amount owed back is netted off your next payout rather than invoiced. It is shown on your dashboard the whole time, so it is never a surprise deduction.
Every reversal is visible in your own dashboard with the reason attached, the moment it happens.
What you must do
Say that it is a paid link. Every post, video, email or story that carries your link has to make the commercial relationship clear. A plain "#ad", "paid partnership" or "I earn a commission" is enough. In the US this is the law, not a preference, and it protects you as much as us.
Describe Cutroom as it actually is. Do not promise results we do not promise: no revenue figures, no "guaranteed sales", no invented before-and-after numbers. Show the product doing what it does.
Keep your login to yourself. Your dashboard shows real customer and payment data. Do not share the account.
What you must not do
Bid on our brand name in paid search, or run ads that look like they come from Cutroom.
Post your link on coupon sites, cashback sites, or anywhere the click is bought rather than earned.
Spam. No unsolicited email or DM blasts, no comment stuffing, no bought traffic, no bots.
Impersonate Cutroom or a member of our team, register domains or handles containing our name, or claim to be an employee.
Anything illegal, or content that would make a reasonable person uncomfortable seeing our name beside it.
Breaking any of these ends the partnership and voids unpaid commission from the traffic it produced. We will tell you what we found and why.
Ending it
Either of us can end this at any time, for any reason, by saying so.
If you leave, or we end it for any reason other than the rules above, commission already earned and approved is still paid on the next run. Your links stop attributing new customers from that day.
If we end it because of the rules above, unpaid commission from the traffic in question is void.
Changes, and your data
If we change these terms, you get an email before the new version applies, and the version you agreed to is stored against your account.
Rates and windows already agreed with you are not changed retroactively. A change applies to customers referred after it takes effect.
We use your email and the accounts you linked to review your application, run your account and pay you. Nothing else. You can ask for your data or ask us to delete it by replying to any of our emails.
